(Moorhead, MN) -- A Moorhead City Council Member is looking to maintain her seat by earning your vote in the upcoming November General Election.

Moorhead City Council Member Deb White joined WDAY Midday to speak about her re-election campaign and the experiences she's had. The representative says serving on the council is one of the "most rewarding" experiences she can think of, and White says she is excited to step back in and work to improve the city.

"One of the reasons why I want to have another four years is that we still have work we need to do, "said White, "Serving on Moorhead Council has been such a privilege and I really enjoy the opportunity to try to create positive change and make a positive impact on people's lives."

White placed a heavy emphasis on improving public safety within Moorhead. She says officer retention can be improved through to reduce officer poaching, like better benefits and wages department wide. The incumbent says the state of Minnesota should also look into building a skills program in Moorhead, instead of sending officers to Alexandria to train their officers.
