(Moorhead, MN) -- MSUM is moving forward with pans to develop the new Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success.
"MSUM has been committed to serving veteran students for quite some time. We've been identified as a "Beyond The Yellow Ribbon" campus for about a decade now," MSUM President Dr. Anne Blackhurst.
Blackhurst says the new program is happening thanks to a $453 thousand grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Blackhurst says The Center will provide dedicated programs and support to those who have served the country. The goal is to improve student success and ultimately improve veteran students’ transition into rewarding careers.
"One of the things I'm most excited about is that we'll be able to offer veterans credits for learning they've done prior to coming to MSUM. We know that our veterans receive excellent training," said Blackhurst.
