Minnesota roadways show improvement following snowfall but trouble spots remain

(Fargo, ND) -- Area roadways are beginning to clear up a bit, but potential dangers remain. That's the word from a Sergeant with the Minnesota State Patrol.

"Right now things are really clearing up in a lot of those areas that have been troublesome but at the same we still have those scattered slippery spots and that's where a number of folks find themselves in trouble, but really just a good reminder, keep that cruise control off," said Jesse Grabow.

Grabow reminds drivers to slow down when roads are icy, give yourself extra time to reach your destination, and leave extra space between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.

"Anytime you start putting changes in elevation, grades, different things like that, curves can be more, how shall we say problematic for folks, and especially curves. You start driving along and you start overcorrecting just a little too much with slippery roads, bad things can happen quickly," said Grabow.
