(Fargo, ND) -- Just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning, Essentia Health-Fargo welcomed its first baby of the new year.
LeeAnna Starr Gonzalez Mendez entered the world at 2:47 a.m. LeeAnna weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces and measured 20 inches long. She is the child of Takeasha Hull and Adalberto “Alex” Gonzalez of Lisbon.
According to LeeAnna’s mother, the baby’s name comes from “four, strong independent women” in her family: Lee after a great great aunt and a great grandmother; Ann after her maternal grandmother; and Starr after her mother.
Over 1,100 births occurred at Essentia Health-Fargo in 2022.
