Update: Suspect arrested in South Fargo stabbing

Update (7:25 a.m.) -- There has been an arrest made in connection with a stabbing in South Fargo late Thursday evening.

The Fargo Police Department confirms to WDAY Radio that 23-year-old Shawn Schwandt is in custody at the Cass County Jail in relation to the stabbing incident.

The Department says at 11:48 p.m, officers responded to calls of a stabbing in the 2400 block of 33rd avenue south. When they arrived, they spoke to the victim, who was uncooperative and eventually transferred to a local hospital for a stab wound behind their ear.

Soon after a separate caller provided a description of Schwandt to officers and the vehicle he was driving.

Shorty after being located, Schwandt and a passenger in his car, 21-year-old Rose Brown, were detained. Schwandt faces several charges, including Aggravated Assault, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Methamphetamine.

Brown was also arrested on unrelated charges.

The Fargo Police Department does say the incident happened just south of the Sanford Southpointe Clinic off 33rd avenue south late Thursday.

It is unclear the extend of any injuries or if any arrests have been made.
