Free organic farming and ranching conference coming to Fargo

(Fargo, ND) -- A free conference focused on organic farming and ranching is coming to Fargo. 

"It's an opportunity for folks to truly explore the challenge of organic grain and field crop production in the northern Great Plains which is, as you know a very difficult and sometimes challenging place to grow anything," said Jeff Schahczenski, an economist with the National Center for Appropriate Technology.

Schahczenski says the two-day session is designed to give beginning farmers and ranchers in the northern Great Plains the chance to "explore regenerative, certified organic production systems for grains, oilseeds and pulses". The conference takes place January 26th and January 27th. Check out their website to learn more.
