(Fargo, ND) -- A long-planned waste processing center in Moorhead will open to the public this coming Monday.

"As far as the public side, you'll go through the public drop-off. You can deliver household hazardous waste, tires, appliances, electronics, your household garbage or anything that you have at your house that you want to get rid of that's legal we can take it here," said Corey Bang, Clay County Solid Waste Manger.

Bang is talking about the new Clay County Resource Recovery Center at 3322 15th Avenue North in Moorhead. The "all in one" $23 million facility replaces the Moorhead Transfer Station, Clay County Hazardous Waste Facility and the Clay County Electronics Recycling Facility.

Commercial trucks picking up garbage on residential routes will drop off their loads at the site, for sorting. Some waste will be taken to an incinerator and some will be shipped to a landfill.

Hours of operation are weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as the first and third Saturdays of each month from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
