(Fargo, ND) -- A new survey raises red flags when it comes to the health and well being of North Dakotans.
"You know it's estimated that approximately up to 80 percent of a person's overall health or community health is impacted by what they call social determinants of health. That's really the environment we live in," said Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota President CEO Dan Conrad.
Conrad talked about a survey the company conducted while teaming up with researchers at NDSU. The study, focusing on social determinants of health, identified concerning trends in the state in areas including mental health, teen suicide, and education gaps. Conrad and other healthcare leaders in the private and public sectors met in Fargo Wednesday to discuss possible solutions.
