Fargo Public Schools suspends student accused of bringing unloaded BB gun and "illegal items" to South High School

(West Fargo, ND) -- A student has been suspended from South High School in Fargo for allegedly bringing marijuana and an airsoft BB gun to the school.

Fargo Public Schools said in a statement a teacher suspected the student of being under the influence of marijuana and was subsequently searched in a school office. School officials say they found an unloaded airsoft BB gun along with "illegal items" on his person. Authorities say no BB's or ammunition were found on the student, in their possession, or their locker. They also say no threats of violence were made by the student prior to this incident or during the investigation.

The student is currently in custody with local law enforcement.
