Moorhead residents asked to no longer place glass in curbside recycling bins

(Fargo, ND) -- Residents in Moorhead are being asked to no longer put glass into curbside recycling bins. 

"Glass became a problem because it's so hard on our equipment. It's very difficult to transfer glass up over trailers, and conveyers, it chars," said Minnkota Recycling Sales Manager Mary Aldrich.

Aldrich says glass can and should still be recycled at drop off sites, including dumpsters at Woodlawn Point. Public Works and the new Resource Recovery Center. Another factor impacting glass recycling is declining markets to sell glass to. 

Minnkota customers in Fargo have also been asked to no longer place glass in their recycling bins.
