(Fargo, ND) -- Some troubling trends are showing up in the in the latest annual report from the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

"If you look in our narcotics investigations you've seen a huge increase there in the amount of M30s and Fentanyl that are coming into our area and that continues to be a driving factor in crime in our area," said Sheriff Jesse Jahner.

Jahner also says his latest annual report shows an increase in the number of cases involving Internet crimes against children. Jahner partly attributes that increase to his staff's improved technological ability to identify and investigate those types of cases.

The sheriff says positive trends detailed in the report include an overall reduction in the number of calls for service and a decrease in the number of reported thefts.

Sheriff Jahner discussed the annual report while appearing on "What's on Your Mind" on AM 1100 The Flag.
