(Fargo, ND) -- Former Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Kendall Qualls is speaking out against initiatives promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

"It's absolutely racist, it's evil and it's not compatible with who we are as Americans," said Qualls.

Qualls is an African American veteran, former corporate executive, and founder of the advocacy group Take Charge Minnesota. He recently posted two videos to Youtube titled "DEI is the Big Lie". Qualls says the biggest challenge facing the African American community today is fatherless homes.

He tells WDAY News First the best path to freedom and prosperity for minority groups is through a renewed focus on faith, family and free enterprise.

"DEI (proponents) they do not agree with the term that Martin Luther King, you know spoke about as far as content of character over color of skin. For them it's color of skin over everything else," said Qualls.
