(Fargo, ND) -- The Fargo public school board is releasing the district's new plan to increase safety measures at their schools.

The new measures will include use of the ALICE program, an acronym for alert, lockdown, inform, counter, and evacuate.

The board has pledged to work with local law enforcement to enhance coordination during emergency situations.

The district emergency plan is set to be updated by the end of May.

The discussion, while routine for this time of year, is being highlighted further after the mass shooting at a school in Nashville, Tennessee that saw six people shot to death, including three children.
