(Fargo, ND) — The Superintendent for Moorhead Area Public Schools is breathing a sigh of relief now that school resource officers set to return to school campuses Friday, October 6th.
“These individuals do so much more than just police presence. They do a heck of a job building relationships with our student body, with our faculty, with our community,” said Dr. Brandon Lunak.
Lunak said school administrators, staff, teachers and students “did a nice job” maintaining safe environments while the SROs stayed off campuses.
Lunak said the district made a joint decision with the police department to have the officers return, after further consultations with their attorneys and further clarification from the state attorney general regarding a new law regulating the use of physical restraints on students.
