(Fargo, ND) — Fargo residents will cast ballots tomorrow on the proposed $140 million dollar expansion and remodel of the Fargodome.
The measure includes a quarter-cent increase in the local sales tax and a 3% increase in the city lodging tax over 20-years. It needs 60% approval to pass. There are three polling locations for this election:Ramada Inn, 3333 13th Avenue South; the Fargodome, 1800 North University Drive; or the Civic Memorial Auditorium, located at 207 4th Street North.
“It will be a yes or no question[…]” said D-S Beverages CEO and co-chair of Citizen for Fargodome Reimagined and Conference Center Doug Restemayer, “[…] The quarter cent sales tax will fund the Fargodome renovation, which is about a $90 million dollar project, and the 3% lodging tax would fund the convention center, the 90,000 square foot addition to the south end of the Fargodome.
