(MOORHEAD, MINN) — On Thursday, around 10:48 p.m., Moorhead Police officers were sent to an apartment complex in the 1800 block of 20th Street South for a report of a serious cut to the victim’s neck.
The 43-year-old male victim lived in the apartment and had a female friend over. The victim told officers the attack was unprovoked, and the female left while he went to a neighbor for help. The suspect and the victim know each other, and police believe this is an isolated incident.
Moorhead Police were assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Moorhead Fire Department, Sanford Ambulance, Fargo Police, and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. The department requested assistance from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division due to staffing issues and full caseloads.
The male was transported to Sanford with life threatening injuries. Police are still looking for the female but are not releasing any additional details at this time.
