(Washington, DC) -- Attorneys for former President Donald Trump are denying allegations that he incited the violent and deadly attack at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. Trump's lawyers have filed a 14-page brief ahead of next week's Senate impeachment trial. Trump's attorneys reject assertions that the former President tried to stop the House and Senate from ratifying results of the presidential election. They also question the constitutionality of trying a President once he has left office. The House article of impeachment accuses Trump of provoking the Capitol attack during an earlier, huge rally near the White House.
