Biden Open To Fewer Checks, But Not Lower Payment

(Washington, DC)  --  President Biden would be willing to send direct payments to fewer Americans, but he has no interest in sending smaller checks.  White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki [[ SAH-kee ]] said on Fox News Sunday Biden would consider lowering the income threshold for direct payments in his one-point-nine-trillion-dollar relief package.  However, Psaki said Biden won't negotiate the size of the 14-hundred dollar payments.  They're currently aimed at people making 75-thousand dollars a year or less.  She said Biden is willing to further target the checks to "ensure they hit the Americans who need that help the most."
