Census Results Shifts Congressional Seats

(Washington, DC) -- Texas is gaining congressional seats while California is losing one for the first time ever.

It's all due to new U.S. Census results that reflect a shifting U.S. population. Colorado, Florida, Montana, North Carolina and Oregon will all gain one seat and Texas will gain two seats.

California, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia will all lose one seat.

Political observers say it appears at a first glance Red states are coming out ahead of Blue states in this reshuffle.
