Prosecutors Pleased With Verdict In Tibbetts Case

(Davenport, IA) -- Prosecutors are pleased Mexican national Cristhian Rivera was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts.

She was stabbed to death while out for a jog in 2018. Prosecutor Scott Brown said Rivera's story about two men abducting him, then forcing him to drive where Tibbetts was jogging, then killing her, just didn't add up.

Brown said he hopes the verdict brings a sense of justice to Tibbetts' family.
