(Las Vegas, AZ) -- Record-breaking heat is expected to scorch the western U.S. throughout the weekend. Several heat records were broken in the Desert Southwest on Friday, with Palm Springs hitting 119 degrees and Needles recording 121 degrees. Today the hot, dry air will once again be sending temperatures out West ten to 20 degrees above normal. Las Vegas is anticipating a third straight day of record heat. Record highs are also expected across Arizona and New Mexico.
