Johns Hopkins Reports COVID As America's Deadliest Pandemic

(Baltimore, MD) -- COVID-19 is officially the most deadly virus outbreak in recent American history. That's according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

The number of reported U.S. deaths due to COVID exceeded 675-thousand on Monday. Coronavirus fatalities surpassed the number of estimated U.S. deaths from the 1918 influenza pandemic, which up until this point was considered America's most lethal pandemic in recent history.

According to the World Health Organization, the 1918 flu killed more people globally, with an estimate of 20 to 50 million who died.
