NYC Gives Workers COVID Vaccine Deadline

(New York, NY) -- A COVID vaccine mandate in New York is extending to city employees.

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced this morning that they must have at least one shot by Friday of next week. And those who get it at city-run vaccination sites will get an extra 500-dollars. Those who refuse to comply will be placed on unpaid leave.

Uniformed correction officers are getting extra time. Their deadline is December 1st due to staffing issues at Rikers Island.
