(Atlanta, Georgia) -- The U.S. is keeping an eye on a new COVID-19 variant dubbed "Delta-Plus."

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky says there's been a handful of cases detected in the U.S. but so far it doesn't seem to spread more quickly or make vaccines less effective.

The "Delta-Plus" variant is reportedly responsible for an increasing number  of cases in the U.K., making up around six percent of new cases there.
