(Washington, D.C.) -- President Biden's virtual Summit for Democracy is getting underway Thursday morning with over 100 world leaders.

It's part of his plan to return the U.S. to global leadership to face down authoritarian forces led by China and Russia. Both countries weren't invited and have condemned the summit.

The governments participating will commit to fighting corruption and protecting human rights. The White House promises a year of action will follow the two-day conference.
