(Atlanta, GA) -- More than 800-thousand Americans have died from COVID-19.

That number, surpassed this weekend, means more people have died from the illness here than any other nation in the world. More than half that number have died in 2021 and most of the victims were unvaccinated.

The nation has seen nearly 50 million cases of the virus since the pandemic began.
