(Washington, DC) -- The Biden administration is sending medical teams to a half-dozen states to help overcrowded hospitals keep up with the omicron surge.

President Biden is expected to announce Thursday that federal medical teams will be sent to New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, Michigan, and New Mexico.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Wednesday hundreds of doctors and nurses are already assisting medical workers in several states.
