(El Segundo, CA) -- Mattel says it won back the license to make toys based on Disney's lineup of princesses.

This is a significant development for the toy company since it lost the license to rival Hasbro in 2016. Mattel will start selling the Disney toys in 2023. The financial terms of the new deal were not disclosed to the public.

Meanwhile, Hasbro reported that it renewed its deal with Lucasfilm for the 'Star Wars' franchise. The toy company also negotiated a new agreement to develop products based on the 'Indiana Jones' franchise. Those toys will also be available in 2023 to align with the release of the franchise's next film.
