(Washington, DC) -- The U.S. is blocking avocado imports from Mexico because of what the Department of Agriculture calls security concerns.

The USDA notified Mexico it's suspending imports from the state of Michoacan, the world's biggest producing region of the billion-dollar avocado trade. The rich agriculture state exported more than 135-thousand tons of avocados to the U.S. in just the past six weeks.

The USDA made the move after one of its officers who was making an inspection got a threatening call on his cell phone.
