CDC could update mask guidance this week

(Washington, DC) -- The CDC is expected to update its mask guidelines as soon as this week.  

Every state except for Hawaii has either lifted their mandates or given an end date. The CDC director said last week she wants to give people a break from wearing masks as COVID cases continue to fall, but warns they'll go back if things get worse.  

The agency just lowered its travel advisory for cruising and softened guidelines on quarantine and vaccine status.
