(Washington, DC) -- The mask mandate for travelers isn't ending next week.

The TSA extended it another month. That means anyone traveling by plane, train or bus will need to continue wearing a mask until April 18th.

The White House says this will give the CDC enough time to work on new guidelines to ease the rules.

“We’ve pushed back against those mandates from the start, and this latest effort is to end the mandates related to travel on planes, trains and buses," said North Dakota Senator John Hoeven. "People should be able to make their own decisions.”

The agency already said most people no longer need to cover up indoors as COVID cases continue to fall nationwide.
