(Atlanta, GA) -- Older adults can start boosting their protection against coronavirus as early as Wednesday.

The CDC recommends a fourth Pfizer or Moderna shot for those over the age of 50. That would essentially be a second booster.

This comes as a new version of omicron now makes up most new cases nationwide. The FDA plans to meet next week about whether to offer the shots to everyone or wait for boosters that target specific variants.
