(Washington, DC) -- Statues are being authorized to honor two late Supreme Court justices.
The bill, headed to President Biden's desk, calls for statues to be built in the next two years and placed in a prominent location to honor Justice Sandra Day O'Connor as well as civil rights icon Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
O'Connor who had ties to Arizona and Texas, was the first woman appointed to the High Court while Ginsburg was the second. President Reagan appointed the Stanford Law grad in 1981, while Ginsburg was appointed in 1993 by President Clinton.
Ginsburg was born in New York, got her law degree from Columbia University and taught law at Rutgers-Newark for nine years.
