Pentagon defends U.S. efforts to assist Ukraine

(Washington, DC)  --  The Pentagon is defending U.S. efforts to assist Ukraine during Russia's ongoing invasion.  Spokesman John Kirby told reporters that the U.S. is doing everything possible to help Ukrainians defend their country with "security assistance."  He said that involves "weapons and tools," including sharing pertinent intelligence.  Kirby added, "We want the Ukrainians to win this war."  He praised the performance of the undermanned Ukrainian military, calling it incredible work.  

Kirby noted that some Russian military units have been "completely devastated".
