(San Francisco, CA) -- Police in San Francisco are weighing what they might have done differently when an officer pulled over a driverless taxi earlier this month.

The cop tried to open the door of the Chevy Bolt when he saw that no one was behind the wheel. He turned and headed back toward his patrol car and the taxi took off. It pulled over after crossing an intersection.

The SFPD contacted General Motors subsidiary Cruise, which operates the self-driving cars, and decided to let the taxi off with just a warning.
