(New York, NY) -- People magazine may soon be ending its weekly print edition.

The New York Post says the popular magazine may be leaving the grocery checkout line and become online-only. Staffers at People say they're bracing for the change after the magazine's new owners, Dotdash Meredith, stopped printing numerous publications like InStyle and Entertainment Weekly. One staffer said the weekly edition may be replaced with monthly and special-themed issues.

A spokesperson for DotDash Meredith says the claims are completely false, and that People will continue to publish weekly as it has done for 50 years.
