(Seoul) -- President Biden is stressing the growing cooperation between the U.S. and South Korea on his first visit to Asia.
At a semiconductor plant in Seoul Friday, Biden pushed for final passage of a bipartisan bill the White House says will cut costs for Americans and help ease inflation. The bill is intended to boost chip production and guard against future interruptions in the supply chain.
Biden said the pandemic exposed what he called the fragility of just-in-time supply chains. The Samsung plant Biden visited is serving as the blueprint for a 17-billion dollar facility the electronics giant plans to open near Austin, Texas.
