(Helena, MT) -- Montana is requesting an expedited presidential major disaster declaration to help deal with historic flooding.
The request the governor's office announced Wednesday would open the door for more federal money to repair immediate damages from flooding. That includes damaged public water and sewer systems, the power grid, federal roads, and healthcare facilities.
The request specifically called attention to widespread damage in three counties not far from Yellowstone National Park, which has seen horrific flood damage this week.
