(Culver City, CA) -- A new content rating system is coming to TikTok.
The popular app announced the change Wednesday in an effort to prevent young users from seeing inappropriate videos. TikTok says the ratings will use an "approach unique to TikTok" and will flag content that contains "mature or complex themes" and give it a "maturity score."
The rating will be used to determine if users younger than 18 can view the video in their feed.
