(Austin, TX) -- A Texas House investigative committee is blasting law enforcement response to the deadly mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde.

The report describes "systemic failures and egregious poor decision making" among the nearly-400 law enforcement leaders and officers on the scene at Robb Elementary School. It detailed the lack of adherence to active-shooter training by authorities who "failed to prioritize saving the lives of innocent victims over their own safety."

Texas Governor Greg Abbot initially praised law enforcement for their "amazing courage by running toward gunfire" but took back his statement when it was revealed they waited over an hour to confront the shooter after he went into the building.
