(Washington, DC) -- The U.S. is sending more rocket launchers to Ukraine.

Top military officials said Wednesday the Pentagon is sending four more rocket artillery launchers to the eastern part of the country where the Ukrainian military has been under heavy fire from Russian forces.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the U.S. has now provided Ukraine with 16 long-range missile launchers. Austin said more rocket systems are needed because Russia "is keeping up its relentless shelling," which he called "a cruel tactic that harkens back to the horrors of World War One."
