(Washington, DC) -- West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have a deal to invest 369-billion dollars in clean-energy priorities.

The energy and climate deal the two Democrats announced on Wednesday will speed up production of electric vehicles, solar panels, and wind turbines. The money will provide other incentives to boost the clean-energy economy. It will be included in a budget reconciliation package scheduled for a floor vote next week.

Supporters estimate the deal will cut carbon emissions by 40-percent by 2030, putting the U.S. closer to meeting President Biden's goal of a 50-percent cut in carbon emissions by that year.
