(Fargo, ND) -- If you think your morning cup of joe has gotten pricier, you're not imagining things.

At coffee shops from January to May of 2022, the average price of regular coffee was four dollars and three cents, up nine percent from the same time last year. And for specialty coffee, prices were up six percent to five dollars and 23 cents, according to the NPD Group.

Americans have had to be more conscious about what they spend their money on. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz commented on the situation, saying he's worried about how long consumers can continue to spend at the level they are until there is a better plan to get inflation under control.
