(London) -- The world's second largest movie theater owner confirms it might file for bankruptcy in the U.S.

Cineworld, which owns the Regal theater chain, said it's considering a voluntary Chapter 11 filing.

The company said the filing would not affect operations or its employees.

Cineworld recently said a limited number of film releases has kept post-pandemic customer levels to be lower than anticipated.
