(Staten Island, NY) -- Amazon has lost an effort to overturn a union vote at its warehouse on New York's Staten Island.
On Thursday, a National Labor Relations Board official recommended upholding the vote in April when more than 26-hundred workers voted to join the Amazon Labor Union.
It's the first vote to unionize at one of the online retail giant's U.S. locations.
In May, Amazon submitted a filing accusing the NLRB's Brooklyn office of illegally appearing to support the union drive. Amazon has until September 16th to file objections to the official's Thursday recommendation.
