(Washington, DC) -- Congress has approved a bill to expand the federal government's power to prosecute international war crimes suspects who are in the U.S.
The bill allows them to be tried in a federal court, regardless of the nationality of the suspect or the victim, or where the crime was committed.
Experts say the bipartisan bill that now goes to President Biden brings the U.S. legal code into line with international law and prevents this country from being seen as a potential haven for war criminals.
