(Washington, DC) -- Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is pledging to make a push to get Phil Washington confirmed as the new FAA Administrator.

Schumer says after recent airline troubles and technology problems caused headaches for travelers, it's clear the FAA is in need of leadership.

Schumer is planning to call for a hearing where members of Congress will have the chance to ask Washington questions.

Washington currently works as Denver International Airport's chief executive.
