(Albuquerque, NM) -- A former Republican state House candidate in New Mexico is in custody after a string of shootings that targeted the homes of Democratic officials.

Police in Albuquerque on Monday announced the arrest of Solomon Peña, a supporter of former President Donald Trump who lost his state House race last November by almost 50 points.

He claimed the election was rigged.

Peña's accused of orchestrating the shootings by hiring at least four men to pull them off.
