(Watertown, SD) -- One of Watertown School District's schools is facing the possibility of shut down due to a lack of enrollment.

Superintendent Jeff Danielson says each of the five elementary schools is about two-thirds capacity right now, which has the potential to prompt the closure. He says the earliest a school would close would be the 2024 - 2025 school year. Watertown previously had seven elementary schools, and have since been reduced to five total.

Parents can voice their comments and concerns during a community listening session Wednesday afternoon at Watertown High School.
