(West Monroe, LA) -- A Louisiana nursing assistant is facing charges for allegedly urinating in a hospice patient's milk container.

Police in West Monroe say the patient's daughter witnessed 66-year-old Donald Shaw take the container then place it at waist level, at which point she called authorities.

Officials said Shaw admitted to investigators that he urinated in the container, but claims he only did it because he had to use the restroom.

Shaw reportedly put the container back on the patient's bedside table after the incident and did not say anything to his daughter. He is charged with cruelty to the infirmed.
